Alpha-lactalbumin

Alpha-lactalbumin is a specialist whey protein fraction rich in cysteine, which can play an important role in enhancing oxidative capacity during exercise. This favourably influences time to fatigue and performance. Furthermore, alpha contains a higher level of tryptophan, the precursor to serotonin, which can improve relaxation and sleep.

Our Lacprodan® alpha ingredients can be applied in a number of applications, including clear UHT beverages, bars and other food solutions.

  • Lacprodan® ALPHA-10: whey protein fraction with a minimum 43% alpha-lactalbumin and a high content of tryptophan, cysteine and 88% protein concentrate approx. dry matter
  • Lacprodan® ALPHA-20: whey protein fraction with a minimum 60% alpha-lactalbumin and a high content of tryptophan, cysteine and 91% protein isolate approx. dry matter
